The JBL Pulse 2 bluetooth speaker hits you right away when you turn it on and that’s not because of the music you’re playing but rather the intense LED light show that accompanies it. The entire body is covered with a sleek yet durable and modern styled grill. When you turn the speaker on, you are welcomed with an array of brightly colored lights that dance to the music you’re playing. The speaker even has a built-in camera that can scan any color you place up to it and the LED’s will match that color. This is a bit much if you ask me but it does make it nice if you want the speaker to blend in to the environment, no matter what it is. The accompanying app allows you to choose from a few available LED patterns as well.

Enough about the light show though, let’s talk about the stuff that matters. The sound quality from the JBL Pulse 2 is slightly lacking in the mid-range. The bass seams to drown out the mid-ranges during loud play. If a singer has a deep voice, it almost comes through as a low drone or hum. The average listener won’t really notice this but after time it may become more apparent. The battery life is rated at 10 hours which is lower than most for the price and size. At full volume with the light show you can expect around 4 and a half to 5 hours.

JBL Pulse 2 is a high quality build that is splash resistant, has more features than most bluetooth speakers and can play very loud. You can also pair it with other JBL speakers for an even bigger experience! The JBL Pulse 2 bluetooth speaker is an experience, a conversation piece and a multi-entertainment piece of technology that is pushing the boundaries.

The JBL Pulse 2 has a price tag of $154.49 which is incredibly cheap when you consider the features you get. The bass response is deep and the speaker plays very loud. The light show, while very gimmicky, is pretty awesome. It has a robust feel and it is splash proof. Waterproof would make this more durable but splash proof is better than nothing. With this speaker, I have to say you get the best bang for your buck. With all the features, I’m surprised at how low the cost is with the JBL Pulse 2 bluetooth speaker.

The customer reviews for the JBL Pulse 2 bluetooth speaker are abundant. It is a seriously popular speaker, primarily, thanks to the light show you get that reflects the music you’re playing. Everyone seems to be thrilled with the sound quality as well as the build quality. The only negative reviews I was able to find, mentioned the battery life becoming shorter and shorter after roughly 6 months to a year later. This might be an issue with how often the battery is charged. With a battery life of only 10 hours at medium volume with no light show, this could prove to be problematic in the late future. All-in-all the majority of customers who have purchased the JBL Pulse 2 absolutely love it.

Summary

I love the JBL Pulse 2. It’s as simple as that. It’s not waterproof and it’s not small enough to bring hiking. It doesn’t have the longest battery life but, how else can I say it, it’s so cool. I love the light show, I think its perfect sitting out on the patio at night or as a night light to fall asleep to. It’s perfect for a party and really adds an extra element of entertainment. The sound can get really loud yet stays fairly clear which is hard to find at this price. I would recommend the JBL Pulse 2 bluetooth speaker to pretty much anybody who wants some awesome entertainment.
