If you are a small to medium sized business, eHost has your hosting needs covered at a great price. The uptime is higher than the industry standard. The page load speed is average and the support has great reviews. My main suggestion is to be sure about your usage before you sign up for a plan. This is the biggest ding against eHost. If you shop for hosting with your parameters understood, you’ll be alright. If not, look for hosting that you can upgrade at a minimal fee. eHost does offer upgrades but the cost does start to rise quickly, so be aware of that. eHost is a reliable and affordable package with good customer service that will be able to fit your small to medium sized business needs easily.
Based out of Houston, Texas, eHost is a web hosting service that has been around since 1998. They proudly claim to operate over 1 million websites on their platform. They became part of the Endurance Group International umbrella in 2010 which leads to their credibility. Unlike most of the hosting services under EIG, they differ in that they are not plagued by some of the same issues that other EIG web hosting services are, like inconsistent uptime and seemingly nonexistent support. eHost boasts some of the best uptime’s of any web hosting service out there. Over a ten month period they averaged almost a perfect 100% uptime. Being one of the most affordable plans in the market, this is rather impressive, to say the least. The page loading times are at the faster end of the industry average. The only issue I have found with eHost is the bandwidth restrictions. If you have a very complicated or large eCommerce website, you may experience suspensions when you exceed your plans bandwidth, and upgrading will be quite a hassle. For being so affordable and reliable, eHost is a main contender when it comes to web hosting.
eHost offers one of the best priced plans on the market. Their basic plan (when paid in full) comes out to only $2.75 per month. That’s nearly a dollar less than some of the closest competitors. Many equally priced competitors start to fall short in certain areas, justifying their lower cost. That’s not the case with eHost, though. eHost is proud to have a very reliable uptime, average load speeds and great customer service. You get all of this for a very low cost and, because they are under the EIG umbrella, management will make sure that it continues. eHost provides a great service at a great price.
eHost has some pretty consistent user reviews and testimonials. The majority of users are very happy with their service from eHost. It seems the only real negative issues come from a complicated website exceeding the plans bandwidth. This seems like it could have been avoided if the customers understood the parameters before signing up for the shared hosting plan. WordPress users seem to be thrilled with eHost and the ease of the cPanel (control panel). Building a website is said to have been a breeze with eHost and the customer support is responsive and helpful. There are a few customers who have complained about tickets taking multiple days to be resolved, however there are so few, I imagine that they were isolated incidents. I think it’s safe to say the customer reviews about eHost are positive.
